SUNRATE Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

Our business strategy is centred on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters, which are essential to driving long-term value for our stakeholders. For SUNRATE, we are setting down roots for sustainable fintech by combating climate change.

Going green Not just reforestation Prioritising sustainability Creating a climate-conscious community

Going green

We want to do things that have a direct impact on the environment - reforestation will be our main thrust, supported by changes in our business operations. As part of our Payments Across Greener Borders initiative, we have partnered with the Garden City Fund (GCF)* in Singapore, the Bintan Resorts in Indonesia, and also participated in our partners’ programs (such as the Mastercard’s Priceless Planet Coalition) for our reforestation efforts.

Not just reforestation

We have made concrete changes to our business processes, especially those that are customer-facing and would impact many stakeholders at one go. For example, SUNRATE has transitioned to eco-friendly corporate gifts to reduce the use of disposables, and near-field communication (NFC) name cards that enable employees to share contact information with someone’s device via a single tap.

Prioritising sustainability

The responsibility to reduce our environmental impact is not just a moral imperative. SUNRATE hopes to partner with businesses, industry associations, government bodies and even other fintech companies that share our environmental values and demonstrate a commitment to drive collective action on sustainability.

Creating a climate-conscious community

SUNRATE is committed to playing a leading role in building a more sustainable fintech community, yet we alone cannot move the needle by much. Through partnerships, sharing best practices, and even advocating for policy changes that support sustainability, we can amplify our impact and contribute to building a greener fintech community globally.
